[2016.02.13] 150

It happened sometime this week, but I apparently have a bit over 150 followers on Instagram! Wow, I never thought I would have followers at all. Thank you so much to all who like my stuff and support it. It’s awesome to get support, really encourages me to keep going and pulls me through rough times. Lots of πŸ’šπŸ’œπŸ’™ ~peccosa.

[2016.01.25] Flower Tea (color)

[2016.01.25] Flower Tea (color) πŸ΅πŸ’šπŸŒΌ

I decided to color the sketch I made for @caracasteaco as a way to continue to improve my digital art skills. It took a long time to finish this piece, because it was a sort of experiment, but I learned a whole lot. I think the next digital piece I make may go a lot faster ~

The original sketch for this piece is below, from this post of about a week ago.

Please let me know what you think in the comments! πŸ’š

Art Trade 2016

My sister started this tradition a few years ago of exchanging artwork with friends and family through Facebook, and so for this year’s contribution, I drew this picture for her fiancee ( my soon to brother-in-law), who was appointed to me as my “secret santa” person to give artwork to this year (well, the drawing is for both of them really!). Here’s the picture he gave me for the re-draw:

I just posted it on the group we use to trade pics on Facebook, and he said he loved it! yay πŸ˜€

Featured online!

Oh my goodness! Nicole Bresner at talkingcomicbooks.com has featured my fanart of Scully for an article at this online site about comics and pop media! This is the first time I’ve been featured publicly as an artist, woo hoo! Thank you so much Nicole!!! πŸ’œπŸŒˆ
You can check out the article, about the revival of the X-files here:

[2016.01.12] Rose Quartz (Steven Universe)
This is the first digital illustration I’ve made entirely from scratch in Photoshop (from sketching to finish). I’m learning a bit every time ~ πŸŒΉπŸ’—πŸ’

Blurry Eye tutorial study

eyetutorial_webI’m going to practice my digital painting basics in-between projects from now on, so I did a short study of blurry eyes using corel painter (though the tutorial says to use SAI, but I have a mac that doesn’t support it). It was easy enough, but I didn’t get the results exactly as the tutorial shows. Here’s the tutorial below:

I think it’s because I didn’t use lock pixels, so the color was going all over the place. Well, I’ll keep trying πŸ™‚ I do hope someone makes a version for SAI soon, because I really like what I’ve seen made with the software.
